DISNEY TOPS STREAMING FORECASTS IN OTHERWISE MIXED QUARTER EARNINGS REPORT DISAPPOINTS WALL STREET; SHARES FALL 8% Disney posted stellar results in streaming during its fiscal fourth quarter, but the overall results underwhelmed Wall Street. The media giant's stock, which is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, slumped 8% after the financials. One reason appeared to be the fact that total revenue of $22.5 billion in the quarter ending September 27 was flat with the year-ago period and short of analysts' consensus forecast. Adjusted earnings per share drifted down to $1.11 from $1.14 in the year-ago period but still beat expectations by six cents.  The lack of political ad spending in this year's quarter compared with the 2024 one resulted in a $40 million shortfall, the company said. Studio results were hurt by comparisons with the same period a year ago, when Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine were making theater turnstiles spin.
