It also scored the second-biggest worldwide at $187M. The original global outlook was $80M on Last Rites! Peg it to audiences being told that this is the last we’ll see of Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson’s Warren paranormal investigators — at least for now. Last Rites ranks as the eighth No. 1 opening for Warners this year, and also their seventh movie to open north of $40M; I’m told that’s a record.
