Marking the feature directorial debut of Russell Goldman, the film is based on Return to Sender, his award-winning 2022 short that he later adapted into a 2023 Black List script. It’s currently in production and follows a woman (Lower) who experiences an e-commerce package delivery scam that becomes so personal and disturbing that she becomes hellbent on discovering the identity of her anonymous sender. Critics’ Week Artistic Director Ava Cahen unveiled her fourth selection as head of the Cannes Film Festival parallel selection on Monday, ahead of its 64th edition. The section run by the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics will showcase 11 first and second features, seven of which play in competition, selected from 1,000 submissions.
