Obituaries 🕯️ Richard Kahn, a former president and longtime governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences who also had a long career in film publicity and marketing, died April 5 in Los Angeles, the Academy announced. He was 95. 🕯️ Alice Tan Ridley, the mother of Precious and American Horror Story actor Gabourey Sidibe and a singer who performed for several decades in New York City subway stations, Harlem’s Cotton Club and other venues before finding national fame on America’s Got Talent in her late 50s, died in New York.
