Hi. Today I am reviewing Moguls: The Lives and Times of Hollywood Film Pioneers Nicholas and Joseph Schenck. My, what an interesting book this turned out to be. I read it on my Kobo, so I don't have a nice cover to show you. That was actually upside down. Anyway, not that you would notice. Yes, this is a fascinating look at two movers and shakers in Hollywood and on the East Coast. I believe it was Nicholas who was involved deeply with East Coast business, and it's just fascinating history. These guys, they worked their way up, but once they got there, some of the stuff that went on, and I will never look at the name Eddie Mannix the same way again. I mean, I had heard the stories, but whoa. Okay. Having said that, I got to say that this was really, really a good read. A great read. For anybody who's interested in Hollywood history, I highly recommend it. It left a lasting impression. Let me tell you. Some of the stuff that went on makes your skin crawl a little bit, but be that as it may, it's just fascinating. I think I've said that enough, so I will stop now. Oh, I should mention that it was kind of fun to read, in part, because I remember from my time in New York, Palisades Amusement Park. Nick and Joe were connected with that. They created it. I never knew that, so it was like a little bit of my own history in there it felt like, which is an odd feeling. I'll admit. Also, boy, Louis B. Mayer was some sort of asshole. What an asshole! And poor Irving Thalberg. I mean, my gosh, okay. There's so many wonderful stories in this book I can't even begin to tell you. So yeah, definitely get this one. It's worth it. Read it. It's fabulous and interesting and fantastic. That's it. I'm done. Be seeing you. You can buy the ebook from this retailer.
