Alec Baldwin is now accusing prosecutors of violating his “constitutional rights” in the criminal case involving the October 2021 shooting death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. “The government’s conduct represented a disregard of its ethical duties, and it has threatened Mr. Baldwin’s right to a fair trial,” reads a filing by Baldwin’s New York and Dallas-based defense team, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan. Placed in the docket Tuesday in New Mexico, the latest swipe at prosecutors cites statements made by Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies’ office and now-departed special prosecutor Andrea Reeb about the indie Western’s star/producer’s “gross negligence and a reckless disregard for safety on the Rust film set” and more. >>>1,000 Paper Cuts Strategy |

| Twisters - Local TV news lit up yesterday when video surfaced of a tornado wreaking havoc in an industrial area of Montebello, east of Downtown L.A. The National Weather Service had briefly issued a tornado warning on Tuesday night, but it was canceled shortly thereafter. Wednesday's twister came as the NWS issued another alert about "a strong thunderstorm near West Covina, moving northeast at 15 mph." The statement indicated that "this thunderstorm is capable of producing a weak tornado or strong downburst winds.” That did not materialize, but video posted online showed what looked to be another tornado in the seaside hamlet of Carpenteria. |
