FTX owes money to Apple, Netflix, Coinbase, and moreNew court filings have revealed that bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX owes money to over 9.7 million companies and individuals. On Wednesday, lawyers for FTX filed its creditor matrix to the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The 115-page document lists names in alphabetical order. In a filing the next day, the firm clarified the "inclusion of a name on the Matrix does not necessarily indicate that the party is a creditor." Prominent crypto and Web3 companies appeared, including Binance, Bittrex, Chainalysis, Circle, Coinbase, Galaxy Digital, Messari, Sky Mavis, and Yuga Labs. Tech behemoths such as Alibaba, Amazon, Apple, Google, LinkedIn, Meta, Microsoft, Netflix, Samsung, and Twitter, were also included. CoinDesk, Fortune, Fox Broadcasting, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal were among the media outlets listed. The creditors’ list even includes government agencies from Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and the Virgin Islands. While the filing didn’t disclose what each entity was owed, the firm previously revealed it owed about $3.1 billion to its top 50 creditors. According to multiple sources the publication spoke with, Amazon's focus is on blockchain-based gaming and related NFT applications. One example in the works, per one source, is a series of crypto games that would offer players free NFTs. Amazon “coming into the space” is “a big one” for crypto “for many different reasons, one source said. “We knew it was possible,” they added. “But now it seems like it’s really happening. That’s going to affect the existing players in the space — if they execute and do this right and are smart about it.” The platform will allegedly be run out of Amazon itself, rather than its popular web-hosting platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS). While little is known about Amazon’s foray into NFTs, the company is expected to share more information with the public in April. Mythical Games releases new NFT marketplace Web3 gaming studio Mythical Games has announced the launch of Mythical Marketplace 2.0, following the acquisition of gaming asset platform DMarket. According to a press release, the new marketplace is built on Mythical’s new layer 1 EVM blockchain and powered by the Mythos native ecosystem token, MYTH. The marketplace will incorporate DMarket’s anti-money laundering and fraud protection standards, as well as provide a frictionless experience for gamers looking to purchase gameplay assets. "Mythical’s Marketplace 2.0 was designed to not only enhance our platform but, more importantly, improve the player experience and set the standard for the future of gaming,” said Mythical Games CEO John Linden. “All too often, developers tout features as ‘seamless’ and ‘integrated’ when discussing gaming or metaverse projects. In reality, these solutions are still very complicated and not made for gamers. But with these monumental steps forward, Mythical will provide users with an experience that delivers on both.” Marketplace 2.0 will support NFL Rivals and Nitro Nation World Tour assets at launch, before expanding to all Mythical titles on the Mythical Chain.
