Two films that have taken everyone by a storm in recent days if we look at OTT platforms are none other than "Gehraiyaan" on Amazon Prime and "A Thursday" on Disney+Hotstar. And now, it is coming out that they are the most viewed too if the tracking reports of last week are anything to go by.
Apparently, Deepika Padukone's Gehraiyaan is a super hit on Amazon Prime for the kind of content it has. It is not an extra-marital affair as the trailer showcased, but actually how people in live-in relationships get attracted to others, and what the consequences are going to be like. Especially the climax twist of murder, feeling guilty, and the way Deepika has to live her whole life with a lie, is quite stunning. All these factors made the film garner nearly 7.1 million views on Amazon Prime just last week alone.
At the same time, Yami Gautham's "A Thursday" is about her kidnapping kids in order to tell the ordeal of a rape victim to the world. It is also brilliantly narrated and executed though it has plotline similarities with movies like "A Wednesday". Especially Yami's top-notch acting prowess has mesmerized the OTT audience as the film clocked nearly 5.1 million views last week.
Standing in third place is another intense web series "The Great Indian Murder" on Hotstar which clocked 4.6 million views, while Shruti Haasan's Best Seller clocked 2.5 million views on Amazon Prime last week.
